The Full Story
About us
Cohunu Koala Park is a welcoming wildlife park where families and visitors of all ages can meet a wonderful mix of Australian animals and friendly farm favourites. From cuddly koalas and hopping kangaroos to emus, wombats, echidnas, colourful birds, and even a crocodile, each animal helps create a fun, memorable and educational experience in our natural bushland setting.

Our Story
A Local Wildlife Sanctuary
Cohunu Koala Park began as a dream in 1972, when Lucille and Nardino Sorbello founded the original wildlife sanctuary in Martin, just outside Perth. After opening to visitors in 1975, the park became known for its friendly atmosphere and up-close animal encounters.
In 1982, the park introduced its first koala colony, with four koalas arriving from South Australia — a milestone that would shape its future and lead to renaming the facility Cohunu Koala Park in 1991.
In 2009, Cohunu found a new home in the beautiful bushland of Byford, where it continues to grow its wildlife family and share the magic of Australian fauna with visitors from near and far.

What Makes Us Special
